We’re losing our birds.

BirdLife Australia has released the State of Australia’s Birds report. Australia’s best-known birds, including the magpie, the kookaburra and the willie wagtail have suffered surprising drops in numbers.

Meanwhile, birds of prey in Australia’s arid outback, including falcons, owls and eagles are also in significant decline.

Recently, an analysis released by environmental groups found that just 12 of Australia’s 120 most endangered animals, including birds, are covered by government recovery plans that place limits on the future loss of their habitat.

Eggpicnic is an illustration and design studio set up by birdwatchers and designers, Camila De Gregorio and Christopher Macaluso.  This unique partnership produces fine art prints and toys to raise funds and awareness about wildlife conservation.  A percentage of all Egg Picnic sales is donated to conservation projects.
