Originating from the Swedish word for sky or heaven, Himmeli are a traditional Finnish hanging ornament made out of straw or reeds.  They were hung around the Christmas season to bring luck and prosperity to the home.

In this class, you will learn how to craft each individual Himmeli geode using copper or brass with thread taught by THE Katrina Johnson*.  You will also learn to string them together in your own design to create a larger mobile.  Katrina suggests that Himmeli construction ‘ is such a relaxing craft, so be sure to bring your zen energy along’.  Don’t worry if you can’t find it, it may just be waiting for you in this workshop!
